Modern Decor: White, White & More White
Posted by Team GFURN on
The beautiful faces of white in modern decor are many and wildly varied. White and modern seem to be a perfect pairing for today's modern lifestyle. Pure white on white is stunning while adding pops of color to mostly white rooms gives us the versatility to change our decor whenever we choose. Today, let’s explore a few of those modern white interior spaces.
Pops of sunny yellow, glam gold, and vibrant deep pink that some would call Azalea because it’s that perfect shade often seen in that beloved plant are beautiful in this white living room.
This room also shows us how easily a white space can take an entirely different look if those colorful accessories are exchanged for water blue ones or any colors you choose. Think of the possibilities!
In the modern living room below, an island of white is created in the center of the space, while flooring, walls, and the ceiling are also white. A sedate area rug under the seating area serves to intensify the white furniture.
Using lots of textures means all-white rooms are never dull. We love the lux shaggy rug in white. A white paper lantern hanging pendant adds another entirely different texture.
The Bristol Lounge Chair in Ghost White would be even more stunning in a modern white room. This is one of our favorites. What do you think?
Bristol Lounge Chair - Ghost White
Does your modern white living room need a floor lamp? Consider the Soili Marble Floor Lamp. It’s an elegant choice to elevate any upscale modern room. And, it’s so gorgeous in white marble, gold metal, and creamy white glass globes. Be sure to check this one out. You’ll be glad you did.
Soili Marble Floor Lamp - White
We hope you are inspired to try an all-white color palette or a mostly white one with your favorite hues' accents. This one modern look will indeed have an enormous impact on your home’s decor and on your outlook on life every day. We think white rooms offer an optimistic point of view--open, airy, and fantastic. See you soon at Gfurn.com.

Ways to Use the Colors of Autumn in Modern Rooms
Posted by Team GFURN on
It’s that time of year again already, time to make a plan for decorating for fall. The good news is that there are many, many exciting color palettes to choose from. You’ll find one that perfect for you and a modern home. Here are a few options to inspire you:
Let’s start in a room with fall colors in medium tones, not light and not dark, but just right. This is decor that doesn’t shout “autumn” or appear color-timid but instead uses what is often seen as fall colors very effectively. This is a palette for all year long. Add a few pops of deeper autumn hues, and it becomes decor just right for fall.
Did you realize that pale tones are also suitable for fall decor? The room is seen in the image above shows off pale, almost ethereal autumn foliage. That soft color is repeated in the throw tossed casually at the end of the sofa. What a charming idea for fall decorating!
From pale, we turn to darker autumn hues in the stunning room below. We think this fall palette is an excellent option for modern spaces. Its colors are darker but still create an upbeat vibe--just right for a Mid Century living room.

The Bristol Rocking Chair in tawny leather on a black stained solid oak base is a beautiful addition to a room with a fall-inspired color palette. We love this modern chair.
Here’s the Duster 3-Seater Sectional Sofa with Left Chaise in Auburn Olefin fabric. It’s an exceptional choice for seating in a modern living room or family room with an autumn color palette. Just perfect, don’t you think?

Consider how beautifully the Veronic Lounge Chair in Walnut & Ruby would fit into a modern living room done in fall hues. We think this chair will help you successfully elevate your Mid-Century living space. It’s a gem for sure.

Modern Style: Turquoise, Aquamarine, and More
Posted by Team GFURN on
Is there a better way to refresh modern interiors than to change out or update color palettes? We think fresh new color is the way to go or perhaps fresh old paint in the case of watery blues.
Over time, turquoise and its sibling blues have shown their staying power with interior designers and the general public alike. Add purple tones to turquoise, aqua, sea glass, and aquamarine, and you have a perfect color palette. And one that shines in lots of styles, not just beachy cottages or iconic coastal style two-story beach houses. We think watery blues and purples are perfect in modern rooms.
The modern space above is an ideal space for a teen girl. We love the Eiffel chair in aquamarine. The pairing of turquoise with purple in varying tones is stunning, don’t you think?
Deft touches of turquoise elevate the Australian living room below. Colorful wall art shines in this modern space.
In an entirely different play on an aquamarine/purple palette, the living room above is stylish and modern.
Shades of watery blue and medium gray, along with an appealing pattern, is stunning in the modern bedroom image seen below. A tall upholstered headboard with simply stylish lines and crisp white bedding makes this bed the room's focal point. Sleek glass pendants hang above modern bedside tables.
The Safari 3-Seater Sofa - Aquamarine is our choice of watery blue seating for modern rooms. Its seating swathed in aquamarine fabric.

And here’s a watery blue chair to check out, the Sportage Single Seater Lounge Chair/Sofa - Aquamarine. It's gorgeous and so comfortable, too. Think of the possibilities!

When you give your modern home a refresh, consider watery blues to take your spaces to a new level you’’ enjoy for a long time to come. With these appealing blues and perhaps a splash of complementary purple or lilac, you’ll wake up each day to home decor that will make you smile.
We hope to see you soon at Gfurn.com!

If you’re looking for over-the-top, see a recent post we called “Stunning Rooms: Unexpected Touches.” Today we’re talking chic, stylish, restrained use of animal prints. At the beginning of this post, you see zebra meets modern meets awesome. A massive mirror reflects it all--a sleek white console table, modern tabletop accessories with a beautiful upholstered bench--totally modern and gorgeous.

The solid acacia wood Torrell Bench would look awesome with animal print cushions. The finish is called Woodline mocha.
The Fidel Console Table could elevate a modern foyer and could reach new stylish heights with the addition of a bench upholstered in a charming zebra print. We love that idea.
