Are you considering wallpaper or another wallcovering to one of your modern rooms? As you’ve probably noticed, there are lots of options to cover modern walls. Of course, paint is probably the first option that comes to mind. From pure white to one of those deep tones of gray, green, or navy and a myriad of colors in between, you have more choices than you can imagine. But, still, traditional wallpaper, a new easily removable wallpaper or one of the removable blown-up floral wall-to-wall murals is calling your name. We understand we know where you’re coming from. There’s just something so appealing about a pattern, large or small, on a wall in a great modern space.
In the room-image above, glorious overblown blooms cover one wall in a modern dining space. Doesn’t the mural look great with the classic wide baseboard and other architectural elements? You will find many, many different flowers in an amazing range of gorgeous hues are available, and these murals don’t take an expert to install and are said to be super easy to remove, making them a favorite with renters.
In the modern dining room pictured below, turquoise on white wallpaper is modern with a great contemporary look that means it works well in Mid-Century rooms and in all-out contemporary spaces.
If retro-modern rooms are what you’re freshening up, you find all sorts of wallcoverings that are inspired by original Mid-Century wallpaper designs. The brilliant colors in the retro wallpaper below definitely captured our attention.
Looking for the perfect sofa to add to your modern living room. We think the Mirage in Midnight Blue is just right for so many spaces that need a touch of deep blue and seating that’s “oh, so comfortable.”
Mirage 2-Seater Loveseat Sofa - Midnight Blue
Or, perhaps, what would be just right for your modern space is a vision in a lighter shade of blue. This one is called Safari, and it’s shown in aquamarine.
Safari 3-Seater Sofa - Aquamarine

Awesome Underfoot - Rugs for Modern Interiors
Posted by Team GFURN on
Large area rugs can transform modern rooms. Change an area rug and see instantaneous results--no waiting for contractors or workmen. Select that one irresistible color and pattern that calls your name, whether online or in a brick and mortar store. Bring it home yourself, or if you find it online, have it shipped directly to your front door. Then you do the hardest part, moving the furniture to make way for your new and exciting look.
We love how the pattern in the rug above plays so well with the oversized art in black and white and the deep red seats and backs on the woven chairs.
About area rugs in modern dining rooms
All sorts of dining rooms can benefit area rugs underneath the table and chairs. Under the table and chairs is the key to success with rug-placement in the dining. Be sure the size of the rug allows for plenty of room for dining chairs to be pulled out and still be resting on the rug. Also, rugs for the dining room should be chosen with care (the fiber from which a rug is made should allow for easy clean up) because accidental spills will happen.
From the gorgeous modern chandelier to the beautiful rug on the floor, this inviting dining room is a great example of how a retro space should look. And did we mention how awesome we think Tolix chairs are?
Live in an open loft?
Those who have the opportunity to live in the open space that is a modern loft have the perfect opportunity to use multiple area rugs to define the different “rooms” that are mostly undefined in a loft. Think living room, dining room, home office, bedroom, and even the kitchen. A rug can immediately define each area’s perimeter.
The main thing to remember here is that in choosing the color and pattern of each rug, you should consider how each floor covering will fit into the overall look of the space. The goal should be to create a cohesive, complementary design aesthetic.
Made of Bikaner wool, the Cristallo area rug in glorious shades of pink would be a welcome addition to the bedroom. It would be warm and cozy underfoot.
The Galaxy Rug is crafted from leather and offered in light gray with touches of darker tones. We think it’s time to learn more about stunning leather rugs.
There are so many amazing ways to use area rugs in modern spaces that we definitely revisit this topic again soon. Shop our rug collection on Gfurn to find that perfect rug you’ve been searching for.

The Curated Home: Decorating with Found Objects
Posted by Team GFURN on
Decorating with found objects knows no style boundaries. No matter your interior design style, you can infuse your home with the charm and appeal of the found objects you love. One of the most appealing things about decorating with the things that attract you and captivate your heart is that they give you joy every day, every time you walk past them. They bring a smile to your face and make you eager to return to your home each time you walk out the door.
Natural elements are exceptionally favored found objects. Branches can fit into just about any style, from cottage to minimalist modern and everything in between. Sea glass and shells are always popular for that beach house vibe.
A single object can be displayed dramatically or in a vignette with other favorite things. If you find yourself discovering multiple found objects, you’ll need shelves for displaying those treasures. Large or small display shelves like those you’ll find in our Wall Shelves collection.
Large or small, choose what works for you and your found objects.
Just today, we discovered two newfound objects on Gfurn. Discovering found objects online just might become one of our favorite pastimes. We have fallen for the stunningly simple Kiley Handmade Pouf/Stool with a convenient built-in carrying handle. This pretty pouf comes in five luscious colors.
Paintings, posters and photographs are among the most collected found objects. Their frames can give them your desired style look-Mid Century Modern, contemporary or eclectic.
Can a fantastic table lamp be considered a found object? The Oda Marble Table Lamp - Mini is another of those things discovered today. We fell for this one.
As you see, found objects come in all shapes and sizes. When it comes to those things you love, the age of the found object doesn’t matter and neither does price. Something free can be just as treasured as a thousand-dollar piece of art. So, follow your heart, decorate your interiors spaces with the found objects you love, whether they’re new, old with a long history or gently loved. Your home will be a joy in which to live and share with friends and family.
